Occupational Therapy - Soft tissue therapy

Occupational therapists working in the area of soft tissue treatment focus on the interrelationship between occupation and soft tissue function.

Soft tissue dysfunction may be due to injuries, such as motor vehicle accidents or sport or work related injury or they may be caused by more subtle influences that accumulate over time, such as age, emotional stress, poor posture, disease process or hormonal imbalances.

A variety of soft tissue and neuro muscular techniques are used to enhance the functioning of the neuro-musculoskeletal system. This benefits the spinal muscular system and works to reduce pain as well as eliminating or minimising the causes of dysfunction.

A key area of our work at Qimax involves improving the performance of elite athletes and minimising the risk of injury or pain symptoms before they occur.

Wellness care is the prevention of dysfunction.
