Nicola Wearne MOT

Nicola has completed a Bachelors Degree in Psychology before achieving her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy at Curtin University. She has experience in various occupational therapy areas including with the visually disabled, vocational rehabilitation, orthopaedics and geriatrics. She also spent time in major teaching hospitals in London working in various areas including orthopaedic rehabilitation before returning to Australia to complete the Soft Tissue Post Graduate Qualification in which she excelled.

She has a special interest in performance athletes and has herself been a high level gymnast training at the WA Institute of Sport as well as being a national level dressage rider and competitor. Many of her clients are elite sports persons, dancers and gymnasts but she is equally sought after by people having musculo skeletal, chronic and functional issues.

Nicola has a holistic approach to her treatment, looking at the causes of dysfunction not just the symptoms. She uses various treatment techniques both physical and bioreguatory to get the very best results for her clients.

  

  

Ryan Stanford BScOT

Occupational Therapy - soft tissue therapy  

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science Occupational Therapy degree from Curtin University and joined the Qimax team as a senior soft tissue therapist beginning 2010. Ryan has expereince as an occupational therapist working in vocational rehabilitation, occupational health and safety, mental health, paediatrics and orthopaedic rehabilitation. In his final year of study Ryan was also involved in the occupational therapy abroad program where he travelled to China to work with children with disabilities. After gaining this experience Ryan completed post graduate studies to specialise in Soft Tissue Therapy.

Ryan has been working in the area of soft tissue since the beginning of 2008 and has treated a diverse range of clients from all walks of life, including office professionals, tradesmen, the elderly and athletes. Ryan has a passionate interest in sport and throughout his junior years was invloved in basketball, water polo, specialist tennis programs, athletics and competed at the nationals for swimming. This continued on in his clinic where he has been the treating practitioner for basketball teams, dance schools, tri-athletes and the Fremantle Netball Association.

Ryan has a holistic aproach to client care and is passionate about facilitating people to reach an optimal level of health and wellbeing. He is avaliable for seminars on a range of topics including corporate health, ergonomic and workplace assessments, injury managment and prevention and community education.

  

Casey Winton BSc OT

Occupational Therapy - soft tissue therapy

Casey holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from Curtin University. She has experience in various occupational therapy fields including paediatrics, orthopaedics, stroke rehabilitation, burns and geriatrics. She has held occupational therapy positons in country WA, including Merredin and Kalgoorlie as well as broadening her skills overseas, working as an Occupational Therapist in London. Prior to starting with the team at Qimax, Casey was a Senior Occupational Therapist at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, providing treatment in the specialist fields of paediatric orthopaedics and burns.

Casey has a diverse sporting background and has participated in dance and sailing at a competitive level. Her dance background has enabled her to have an increased understanding of training demands placed on athletes, and the importance of managing musculoskeletal health and sporting injuries appropriately. These experiences have influenced her to pursue post graduate studies to specialise in soft tissue therapy.

Casey has a holistic approach to client care and is passionate about helping people to achieve their full potential. She thoroughly enjoys being part of the Qimax team and assisting people from all walks of life to maximise and maintain their health and quality of life.

Hannie is a Registered Nurse who completed a post graduate paediatrics course at Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth and working in special care baby unit in London. She also spent many years as a critical care nurse in the intensive care department at Royal Perth Hospital. During this time and to a large extent due to her experiences in the high intervention environment a keen interest in natural health was developed. Her nursing background is invaluable and she acts as health care advisor at Qimax using her extensive knowledge and experience in both conventional and natural medicine to ensure the very best of patient care can be offered.

Hannie has a Degree in Health Science and has undertaken post graduate studies in Paediatrics, Homotoxicology, Biomesotherapy, Homeopathy, Dorn therapy and Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. Because of her diverse background Hannie takes an evidence based approach to health and believes that natural medicine can and must coexist with conventional medicine, taking the very best from both paradigms for the very best outcomes for her patients. She believes that patients must be proactive and involved in their own health care and must have correct information to be able to make sensible, well informed health decisions.

Hannie is experienced in treating a variety of conditions from musculo skeletal problems through to women’s and children’s health and metabolic disorders that create symptoms of fatique, insomnia, headaches, neck and shoulder pain, gastro intestinal disorders, hormonal and fertility issues. She particularly enjoys challenging and ‘difficult to shift’ cases.
